The proposed "iCreate" software package would be a welcome addition to my Mac. In fact, I learned how to photochop on Paint Shop Pro, and would love to see what Apple could do with it.
If Apple ever did release a package called "iCreate," they would have to contend with naming issues because of iCreate Magazine. Of course, Apple was able to resolve the iPhone naming issues with Cisco, so this should not be too difficult.

I learned how to 'illustrate' with CorelDraw and have recently moved to a Mac and would love to see a Cocoa version of CDraw!
My first experience with a word processor was Word Perfect. The word processing war ended a long time ago, so I don't think Word Perfect would provide much value to Apple.
This might have been a big deal 15 years ago. Same with a Quark buy-out. Apps are moving online. Apple would be wiser to invest in 37 Signals, OpenOffice.org, or similar.
Some apps are moving online. Some apps shouldn't move online, and pro (or even prosumer) level design and illustration tools fit in to the latter category.
I'm not sure I believe Apple needs or even wants a pro level tool in that field, but if they do, they shouldn't bother looking to an online solution.
Brian, not long ago I would have agreed with you, but recently I've tinkered with some web-based photo editing tools (Phoenix from Aviary and another which is comparable to Photoshop), and I have to say... the future of even 3D rendering software is in an online environment.
Wouldn't you find it beneficial to collaborate online with a colleague? Not to mention accessing your files remotely AND passing along the heavy lifting to a remote server?
I think online collaboration is possible without a full-fledged online presence for an application.
Apple should buy Adobe
Yes.
Corel hasn't been even on the radar for years.
